Motsunabe Ichifuji Tenjin Nishidori Ten

Since we didn't have a reservation, we went as soon as they opened and were lucky to get a table. The staff were really helpful and gave us some great tips. The hot pot was good, but it wasn't the most amazing thing I've ever had. Still, if you're in Tenjin, it's worth checking out.

Seriously good Motsunabe / beef intestine pot, one of the best if not the best in Fukuoka. Its slightly sweet miso and sesame broth and flavour infused from the beef intestine makes all food in the pot very delicious. However despite food arrived fast I found the 1 hour time limit the restaurant imposed is not sufficient. Be there at 5:00pm sharp if you want to avoid queuing.

It was my first time trying motsunabe, and I think every traveler should try it if you want a real local experience. I actually found it pretty good, especially when you add champon noodles.

Family friendly place! Been travelling around Japan with my baby and finding it really hard to try many different restaurants as most interestimg places are cramped and seating is limited. Found this gem with great food and service, highly recommended for families!

Motsunabe First-Timer? Go HERE! This was our very first experience trying Motsunabe (Fukuoka's famous beef offal hotpot), and Motsunabe Ichifuji (もつ鍋 一藤) absolutely set the bar high! We were slightly hesitant about the offal, but the soup base is truly UNREAL. Despite its incredibly rich appearance, the broth is phenomenal, and there was zero gameyness to the meat. It was pure, savory, umami comfort. We had the miso-based stock, and it was the perfect meal—incredibly warming and satisfying, especially for a chilly winter night. The combination of the hearty vegetables, chewy offal, and rich soup is a masterpiece. The restaurant is highly popular, so booking ahead is recommended, but this is a must-try Fukuoka specialty. Highly, highly recommend!

Foreigner friendly and easy to order for english speaking people - order through tablet. We made a reservation in advance so we could sit privately. The mostunabe with soybean tasted great but was a little oily to my taste personally. The apps we got (sashimi crudo, curry potato salad, cucumber) were top notch!

Came a bit later and missed the queues. Waited a few minutes as patrons were leaving and tables cleared. Scan the QR code and order via your phone, quick and easy. The horse sashimi was very well presented, a touchy chewy but for lean meat that is to be expected. The vinegared off needed a touch more vinegar to give a bit of oomph. With the main course, the hotpot. Every was great except for the offal. Extremely fatty and chewy, maybe it's the style here...the tofu was silky and smooth, the veggies were nice and fresh and the lovely stock.

Made reservation in advance. When we arrived was promptly brought to our table. Seating area consists of a long table with separators. Ordered their famous miso based offal with beancurd. Also tried their horse meat sashimi. Food wise tasted great, however the soup based gets thick the longer you eat. Ordered sake too. Friendly service especially from the Indonesian waiter!!
